His Excellency, Ambassador Kwacha Chisiza, attended the Japan-India-Africa Forum at Lino Hall. The Japan-India-Africa Business Forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nikkei, attracted over 2,000 participants from over countries and regions. The forum discussed how to fully utilize the potential of India and Africa’s growth markets, challenges, roles of public and private sectors, and the outlook for building India as a business hub in the region.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Muto Yoji, emphasized the need to recreate a rule-based international economic order amid rising geopolitical uncertainty and trade protectionism. He stressed the importance of enhancing economic ties with reliable partners like India for the global economies development. He also emphasized the need to build a free and fair economic zone by promoting the Free and Open Indo-Pacific initiative, extending it to Africa, and enhancing inter-regional connectivity. He launched the Japan-India Cooperation Initiative for Sustainable Economic Development in Africa, aiming to promote investment by Japanese companies in India and establish business bases for bilateral business with African countries.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will promote collaborative efforts among the public and private sectors to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Africa. It will focus on enhancing industrial clustering, investment, job creation, and human resource development.
