The president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recently toured the Malawi Pavilion at EXPO 2025, which is advancing the theme “Empowering Lives.” The pavilion is a vibrant showcase of Malawi’s potential, featuring documentaries and exhibitions that highlight key sectors such as tourism (the significance of Lake Malawi, cultural heritage, arts and crafts), agriculture, manufacturing, mining, trade, and investment.
The Malawi Pavilion emphasizes that empowering local communities can lead to sustainable development. Through various exhibits, the pavilion illustrates the transformative impact of initiatives aimed at enhancing livelihoods and fostering economic growth.
The JICA president’s visit to the Malawi Pavilion at EXPO 2025 represents a step toward stronger ties between Japan and Malawi, aiming for a brighter future through shared knowledge and resources.
Expo 2025 will conclude in October 2025, and the Malawi Pavilion is currently receiving approximately 1,200 visitors per day.
