A Visit to the Japan Pavilion: “Between Lives”
Minister Mumba’s tour included a visit to the Japan Pavilion, whose theme, “Towards a Sustainable Future: Presenting Japanese Technology and Culture Alongside Diverse Examples of the Cycle of Life,” resonated strongly with Malawi’s own focus on sustainable development. The Japan Pavilion showcases the country’s aesthetic sensibility and relationship with nature through exhibits demonstrating the cycle of life. The pavilion even incorporates a biogas plant that converts food waste from the Expo into electricity, demonstrating a commitment to circular economy principles.
